Cox Media Group Ohio needs a full-time copy editor to join its multi-publication editorial production team producing four daily newspapers, including the Dayton Daily News and several weekly publications
This is a chance to work in a unique region-wide integrated print/digital/radio/TV newsroom. The successful applicant for this job will:
Use independent thinking and judgment on deadline while communicating frequently with an editor. Work cooperatively and collaboratively with other journalists throughout the company. Check accuracy in all types of information, including headlines, stories, photo captions and graphics. Edit stories for correct grammar and style. Write headlines that meet content goals. Lay out newspaper pages Previous daily newspaper copy desk experience is required.
Dayton has been selected as a location for future joint copy desk operations with other Cox Media Group newspapers, which include The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Palm Beach Post and Austin American-Statesman.
