The Director is responsible for directing the production activities of the staff, cast and crew as creatively, efficiently and effectively as possible in order to obtain optimum interpretation of the script, outline and/or storyboard, within the constraints of time and budget, while obtaining optimum photographic coverage thereof so that each shot, scene and sequence will cut together, flow and give life to the finally realized production. This position is a RUN OF SHOW position.




Responsibilities
-Designs the development concept of the script and proposes psychological profile of the characters in alignment to the context of the production (i.e. history, location, etc)

- Works closely with the Producer and the Casting Director in the casting of all performers and other personnel who will appear in the camera frame

- Reads and annotates the script for meaning, emotion, action, continuity, plot and character development as necessary

-Determines the requirements of the sets/scenery design, wardrobe, makeup, props, etc. for their proper dramatic perspective and functioning

-Consults with the Art Director in regards to set design and the overall creative conceptual visualization for the production

-Breaks down the shooting script into sequences, scenes, and individual shots in preparation for the shooting

-Plots the camera angles and movements for all scenes and shots

-Ensures the proper execution of the proposed vision for the novela while efficiently using and managing the talents of staff, cast and crew

-Responsible for providing the performers/talent a thorough understanding and interpretation of the character's development and emotional levels that must be maintained in during each shot, scene, and sequence

-Works closely with the Director of Photography in communicating the desired look of the production (scene by scene and in its totality) and in setting the appropriate angles and movements

-Blocks and directs the action of all actors, extras, vehicles, livestock, and cameras

-Makes script changes as necessary in order to achieve appropriate transferal of the story - its action line and dialogue - to the recording medium

-Responsible for the final quality of the recorded material

-Participates in the editing process of complex and very important scenes

-Supervises the quality of the final editing piece

-Works under the direct supervision of the General Producer and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

-Ensures that all work is done under the technical guidelines and operations procedures of Telemundo Studios' infrastructure and adheres to EHS/OSHA regulations and procedures

-Follows policies, applicable laws, and regulations to protect his/her own health and safety as well as that of other workers, the public, and the environment

-Presents ideas that support EHS goals and policies to your business or EHS leader
