Director - Marketing
This role leads marketing for ABC News Digital products, leverages consumer insights to drive usage and revenue growth and innovates to find new ways to reach and communicate with our audience. A core member of the ABC News Digital team, the digital marketing lead champions key initiatives to drive further audience development.
Responsibilities: 1) Audience Development
- Drive marketing acquisition of all ABC News products and extensions
- Establish metrics to track the effectiveness and efficiency of our marketing initiatives
- Use marketing vehicles to drive audience to high value, sold and strategic areas through paid and free marketing channels
- Work closely with product strategy and development to understand our audience and effectively address their needs and communicate with them
- Drive tune-in from around key product areas
- Work with editorial to optimize social media's role in driving traffic to ; awareness of the shows, digital, and new products; and tune-in
- Track traffic sources and work with product and editorial teams to highlight and address opportunities
- Deliver marketing support along with partnership and business development teams to extract the most value from our current and future digital partners.
2. Lead marketing plans for ABC News digital products
- Define consumer positioning and partner with analytics and research teams to mine consumer insights.
- Execute marketing campaigns to support the launch of new digital products
- Work closely with product, product strategy and design teams on ABC News Digital products to ensure branding is consistent with the ABC brand and well-differentiated in the marketplace
- Create a clear marketing vision, consumer messaging and marketing/business plans to convey to consumers the differentiated role of each digital platform and product extension
- Work closely with product strategy and research teams to evaluate audience insights to make key decisions related to product, pricing, and brand promise
3. Champion digital marketing initiatives that integrate between sales, shows and Digital
- Work with network marketing, digital and shows to ensure alignment in planning and execution of tent-pole digital marketing initiatives across ABC News digital
- Partner closely and liaise with Ad Sales and Sales Marketing; provide site and sales with marketing materials and support
- Aid in development of integrated, cross-platform marketing for key shows
