As a member of the Editorial team, the Editor contributes new product ideas, shepherds products through the product lifecycle, and has the opportunity to grow with a steadily expanding company.
Actively seek out opportunities for new products and identify key publishers, archives, collections, web sites, and other sources for licensing and/or obtaining product content.
Generate commercially viable project ideas and contribute to business plans
Manage relationships with key publishing partners including university archives, video distributors, and commercial publishers
Establish strong contacts in the academic community to commission content and increase usage of our products
Bachelors degree in a humanities or social science discipline
3-5 years experience in publishing, particularly in new product creation
Must have strong intellectual capacity to pull together key themes from confusing and unrelated data
Demonstrated superior research skills that go beyond just Googling
Understanding of database design and web usability
Strong organizational skills, time management and project management skills
Excellent facility with MS Word, MS Excel, and Google platforms
