We presently seek a skilled editor to provide comprehensive editing, consultation, and resource services for paper-and-pencil and computer-based test questions and test-related materials. This position offers the opportunity to edit a variety of test content and test-related materials in a wide range of subject areas, interact with assessment specialists and independent consultants in their respective fields and act as the primary resource for assessment specialists and other staff on matters of grammar, ETS style, syntax, content, and fairness. Be prepared to also represent the organization at program-specific meetings and work on task forces, committees, and other groups as necessary.
Requirements:
The test materials are of a difficult sensitive, and complex nature and require the ability to routinely perform independent judgment. Additional qualifications include:
? Bachelors degree in English, journalism, or a closely related field with the ability to ensure consistency of style, accuracy of content to deliver the highest overall editorial quality
? At least five years of experience in writing and/or editing
? Ability to read and edit in a foreign language, preferably Spanish or French, is highly desirable
? Must be able to establish constructive, on-going, and high-level rapport with all levels of staff
? Demonstrated familiarity with a wide range of subject areas
? Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
? Proven ability to produce quality work with expedited timelines
? Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
