    Noticias Telemundo is looking a for an Anchor/Correspondent to join our news team. The Anchor/Correspondent will be responsible for presenting live broadcasts including newscasts, breaking news, and special programming. The Anchor/Correspondent has a strong editorial background, follows current news events, contributes to the gathering of information for broadcast and can anchor breaking news with a high degree of skill. Generate story ideas, research, and write news stories. Present fair and accurate stories. Actively participate in daily editorial meetings with story pitches of interest to our viewers. Communicate with news producers, assignment editors, photographers and managers regarding story development and field/breaking news coverage. Stay informed regarding current events on a national and international level. The Anchor/Correspondent can work under pressure and strict deadlines.

    Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the editorial line of the day.

    • Excellent writing skills, able to write clear, concise, compelling, conversational, and accurate copy.

    • Able to work on multiple assignments concurrently in a high pressure, breaking news environment.

    • Ability to improvise in a live broadcast.

    • Broad knowledge of national and international events

    • Work in collaboration with Assignment Editors, Reporters, and production crews

    • Work closely with Producers and Executive Producers on story planning and coordination.

    • Active in social media

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, or equivalent work experience

    • Minimum 5 years of experience working as an anchor or correspondent.

    • Able to present stories on air in a professional manner during pre-packaged reports and live interviews.

    • Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends.

    • Must be fully fluent in Spanish and English (both written and verbal)

    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

    • Team player who works well both collaboratively and independently

    Eligibility Requirements

    • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

    Desired Characteristics

    • Excellent grammar.

    • A basic understanding of desktop computers and ability to learn systems as implemented.

    • Proficient in I-News and any other system for live news production

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Willingness to work flexible hours for last-minute scheduling changes including weekends and early morning shift.
