    As our Apparel Designer I, you'll design innovative apparel product with direction given from design management, utilize design skills to create original, innovative designs that appropriately reflect Nike's design philosophy. You'll communicate design concepts effectively and present concepts within category team. You'll prepare presentation materials that effectively communicate the concept behind the line for internal and external audiences. You'll work with design leadership and category team members in design, development and merchandising to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting price point, merchandising needs and product creation timelines. You'll provide prototype sampling information such as: fabrication, color, graphic applications, style, detail, fit requirements, etc. You'll monitor the development of prototype samples and interact with development, pattern making, materials, apparel lab, field testing and the sample room to exchange ideas and ensure timely completion of each project. You'll work with design management and/or Sr. Designer to actively gain experience, enhance design skills and increase knowledge of Nike's design philosophy, products and processes. You'll build awareness of current trends, color, technology and sports related products through research and travel. In addition, you'll provide design support for the senior designer as needed.

    Qualifications Requirements for the position include:

    Bachelor's Degree in Apparel Design and 0-5 years' prior design work experience or equivalent

    Ability to apply and perform design skills such as: drawing/sketching, ideation, color theory, use of texture, spacing and scale, visual presentation development and layout

    Familiarity with current trends, color and design

    Basic knowledge of pattern making, draping, materials, trims, garment fit, garment construction, and manufacturing

    Basic knowledge of the apparel industry, marketing principles, and development process
