Associate Producer, CBS Newspath (Freelance)

CBSNewspathis seeking anAssociateProducerwith a strong commitment to journalism to coordinateNewspathnews production and newsgathering operations.

• Help manageNewspath's response to breaking news and respond to video and editorial requests from CBS broadcasts, owned stations, affiliates and clients.

• The AP is also responsible for editing and publishingNewspathvideo and scripts and assisting in the transmission and distribution of live video, edited video and correspondent packages.

• The AP will occasionally fill in for the SupervisingProducer.

• Editorial responsibilities such as: spot viral and pre-trending content and turn it around for our brand and be well-versed in rights and clearances.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• 3 years local and/or network TV news experience or showproducerexperience preferred.

• Requires strong editorial judgement & excellent writingskills.

• Strong editing skills a must.Avidpreferable.

• Requires highly developed relationship building skills.

• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a dynamic, quickly-changing environment is essential.

• A focus on multi-media content is required.

• Understanding TV newsgathering and transmission technology.

• Knowledge of regional television markets and station relationships a plus.

• Degree in broadcast journalism or related field preferred.

• Willingness and flexibility to work a variety of different shifts, overnightand weekend responsibilities.

• The candidate must be familiar with all major social media platforms and vehicles for engaging audiences on a digital level. This includes - but is not limited to - Facebook, Facebook Live, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Instagram Stories, and YouTube.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $25.0 - 28.13.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
