  • Responsibilities

    General Purpose:

    The Level 1 Audiovisual Technician is responsible for the safe and appropriate set up, installation, operation, testing, troubleshooting and teardown of audio and video equipment for classrooms and live events. Equipment includes projectors, microphones, speakers, cameras and lighting. Acts as a resource for clients to answer questions and resolve issues. Must have a reliable cell phone for occasional calls or text messages during events.

    Responsibilities:

    • Communicates with clients to understand technical needs. Coordinates delivery and setup of audiovisual (AV) needs for events and classes.

    • Operates AV equipment. Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues that may arise during the event, in the classroom or in an event space.

    • Performs routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed. Ensures equipment is not damaged during use and is returned to its proper storage locations.

    • Assists with developing detailed and consistent documentation for department processes and policies.

    • Acts as a resource for student staff to address questions or issues.

    • Assists department with basic clerical work, including scheduling, organization, training and other related tasks.

    Qualifications:

    Required

    • High School diploma

    • 1 year of experience providing audiovisual support in classrooms or similar environment or for live events

    • or equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Basic proficiency in modern computer programs (Microsoft Office, Google Apps, etc.)

    • Strong problem solving skills

    • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

    • Excellent customer service skills

    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

    Pay Range

    Pay Range: $20.38 - $28.56 Hourly

    The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
