With close to 50 economists and 200 economics and government reporters worldwide, Bloomberg has an outstanding capacity to explain where the global economy and geo-politics are now, where they might be heading, and the ways in which the forces interact.

Bloomberg Economics already offers a comprehensive macroeconomic research service for Terminal subscribers. That includes detailed forecasts, supported by thorough and original thematic research.

As a next step, we are adding geoeconomics research, aiming for global coverage of key regions and issues from the Taiwan Strait to the Middle East and Latin America. The goal is to offer Bloomberg clients a deeper insight into the themes that drive economics, markets, and policy.

We are seeking an experienced editor to support to our growing team.

Working with a team of analysts, the successful candidate will be responsible for crafting and editing geoeconomic research aimed at helping our clients understand how geo-politics impacts the global economy and markets. The successful candidate will also coordinate with other editors on the team to ensure seamless editing support for the broader group of economists.

Short-turnaround projects include editing quick analysis of breaking news on geo-political events impacting the economy, from the use of tariffs and sanctions to the outbreak of conflict.

Longer-term projects involve editing projects that bring together expertise, data, and models to understand how geo-politics, national politics, and economics interact and what that means for markets.

We'll measure success by the quality and speed of editing and impact in terms delivery across all Bloomberg channels.

    WE'LL TRUST YOU TO:

    • Edit for the front page - our biggest geo-economics projects aim at a global audience

    • Ensure our geoeconomic analysis is tightly written, compelling, well-structured, and delivered quickly and accurately -- often under tight deadlines.

    • Complement the technical expertise of our economists by exercising news judgement on when to write, and how to write and frame research.

    • Collaborate with teams across news and research to ensure our work reaches the widest possible audience. This includes editing material for different platforms and coordinating with regional news desks and editors.

    YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE:

    • 10+ years of professional experience in financial or political journalism.

    • Experience working in a real-time news environment.

    • Demonstrated skill at crafting narratives for a front-page audience as well as delivering tightly structured, quick turnaround pieces with a focus on accuracy, readability and added value.

    • Proficiency at editing technical material, sound understanding of basic economic, geopolitical and financial concepts and the ability to write about complex issues in a clear, accessible way.

    • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

    • Energy and initiative to work partner with analysts on delivery of research in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    WE'D LOVE TO SEE

    • Journalism experience on questions at the intersection of geopolitics, economic statecraft, the economy and financial markets.

    • Experience generating content across a variety of formats, ranging from rapid turnaround responses to events to longer-term collaborative projects.

    • Additional expertise in key regions or countries, critical and emerging technology, political science, economics, military studies, or geo-economics analysis, a plus.
