    Summary

    We are seeking a skilled Commercial Lighting Specialist to join our team. As a Commercial Lighting Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to our clients in achieving optimal lighting solutions for their commercial spaces. With your in-depth knowledge of lighting systems and trends, you will play a critical role in enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal and functionality of our clients' environments.

    Reports to: Sales Manager

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

    • Lighting Certified by National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions preferred

    • If not an LC,

    • must commit to achieving LC status within the first eighteen months of employment, or at the earliest time allowed by the NCQLP guidelines

    • Experienced in lighting design preferred

    • Experienced in lighting controls application and design preferred

    • Must have an understanding of IECC, ASHRAE, and applicable energy legislation, or be willing to learn.

    • Proven experience in commercial lighting design, with a deep understanding of lighting principles, techniques, and technologies.

    • Proficiency in 3D rendering and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Dialux.

    • Strong knowledge of energy-efficient lighting practices and sustainability standards, or be willing to learn.

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex lighting concepts to clients and colleagues.

    • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

    • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and certifications such as IESNA, LEED, and WELL Building.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

    • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex lighting challenges and provide innovative solutions.

    • Valid driver's license, a clean driving record and willingness to travel to client locations as needed.

    Working Conditions

    Conditions vary based on the customer location and may include construction, warehouse, manufacturing, office, or external environments. Some activities may include walking, standing, climbing in various conditions including extreme heat or cold. Essential functions will require travel to customer locations.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Make joint sales call with our Outside Sales Representative to assess client needs and provide insights and recommendations on lighting solutions that align with their goals and requirements.

    • Develop lighting designs and layouts for commercial spaces, considering factors such as energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and visual impact.

    • Work with AGi32 to create quality lighting designs.

    • Collaborate with architects, interior designers, and contractors to ensure seamless integration of lighting systems into the overall design plan.

    • Conduct site visits to evaluate existing lighting installations and identify opportunities for improvement or upgrade.

    • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in commercial lighting design.

    • Provide technical expertise and support to clients during installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance phases.

    • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to clients and internal staff, showcasing the benefits and features of our lighting products.

    • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop strategies and materials that effectively promote our commercial lighting solutions.

    • Stay current with relevant building codes, regulations, and certifications related to commercial lighting.

    • Establish and maintain relationships with lighting specifiers by participating in industry groups such as the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES).

    • To act as a backup capable of -

    • Quoting lighting packages and related items for bid jobs based on plans and specifications.

    • Entering customer orders into 3E database.
