Communications Electronic Media Manager
POSITION DETAILS
The CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (CUNY SPH) is committed to teaching, research, and service that creates a healthier New York City and helps promote equitable, efficient, and evidence-based solutions to pressing health problems facing cities around the world. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Electronic Media Manager (CEMM) is a key member of the CUNY SPH Office of Communications team. The position manages all digital communications to the school's internal and external audiences, utilizing the Constant Contact CRM platform and the school's social media accounts. The CEMM fields numerous daily communications requests from the various academic and business units within the school and works with stakeholders to draft, edit, and disseminate information to the appropriate audiences. The CEMM is proficient in WordPress and maintains the school's website, working with content owners to draft, edit, and update content as needed. The CEMM possesses excellent writing skills and drafts and edits written content for broadcast emails, blog posts, articles for the school's publications, webpages, and social media. The CEMM has a strong eye for design and incorporates this into the school's communications materials and ensures end products adhere to the school's branding. As a member of a small, but very busy communications office, the CEMM is able to work independently and also collaborate closely with other team members as needed.
Produce digital communications and materials including web content, broadcast emails, online newsletters, news releases, reports, publications, social media posts, podcasts, and videos
Manage the school's Constant Contact account, curating and maintaining contact lists and scheduling all email communications
Oversee the school's primary website and related sites; implement continuous content updates; and collaborate with the IT department to ensure the regular execution of necessary backups and software updates.
Stay up-to-date and integrate the latest social media trends and best practices
Prepare newsletters and promotional announcements for digital dissemination
Promote news-worthy research and academic developments at the school, with the goal of engaging the CUNY SPH community, prospective students, partner organizations, and other collaborators
Liaise with internal stakeholders and keep them informed of communications policy, branding guidelines, and relevant project updates
Work with the Director and team members to manage the school's electronic media and communications programs and strategies
Other duties as assigned
Note: Until further notice, this position is eligible to work remotely and work on-site in the office.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience required
Excellent written and oral communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
Experience drafting copy for, designing, and managing digital communications and media, including websites, social media, video, audio, and podcast materials for organizations
Strong design skills and ability to be creative while maintaining the CUNY SPH brand
Proficiency in in WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, and Constant Contact or similar digital marketing platform
Demonstrated ability to understand and translate client needs into appropriate digital formats and content
Exceptional organizational and time management skills and ability to meet competing deadlines
Ability to take direction and work independently
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in communications, journalism, public health, or related field
Communications experience in higher education, non-profit, or public sectors

-Consults with client staff to assess needs and determine design and technical specifications
-Plans communications messages, formats, and designs which meet clients' needs and have impact with the intended audience(s)
-Coordinates the efforts of internal and external professionals to implement and disseminate electronic media projects
-Creates and maintains databases, archives, and other content associated with electronic media projects
-Develops production policies and standards and adheres to communications and branding standards
-Supervises staff as needed
-Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
SALARY RANGE: $82,928 - $90,375. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
