  • Minimum qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

    • 10 years of experience in public relations, media relations, or communications

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Well-developed and maintained media relationships with public sector and financial services reporters

    • Experience as a communicator with executives and leadership teams

    • Ability to quickly identify trending topics/issues with a defined point of view and deliver quality work while managing multiple projects

    • Ability to maintain a sense of accountability and ownership and delegate/grow teammates' careers

    • Understanding of cloud technologies and policies

    • Excellent and defined writing style and written/verbal communication, research, analytical, organizational, and editorial skills

    In this role, you will utilize critical-thinking, entrepreneurial expertise, and an intellectually curious approach. You'll combine creativity and organizational processes to manage numerous projects on tight deadlines. You will work cross-functionally with our Product, Privacy, Legal, and Product Marketing teams to help manage security, privacy, and policy communications for Google Workspace. You will be at the forefront of security and privacy issues related to Google Workspace, shaping communications and our response to these business-critical issues. You'll work with our agency partners to land strategic media coverage and with journalists/influencers in the data privacy and collaboration space to advance our narrative in the market. You will draft content, plan campaigns, attend industry events, and bring an understanding of cloud computing, collaboration, data privacy, and security expertise to the team.

    We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders--and our own employees--about the benefits of Google's products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, Communications, Marketing, Product, and beyond.

    • Build and sustain communications programs for our Google Workspace security and data privacy campaigns that can scale with the business globally.

    • Manage Google Workspace security and data privacy related incidents to help shape our communications and our response during business-critical moments.

    • Secure participation from Google Workspace customers and partners in a variety of Public Relations activities, ranging from media briefings, events, and policy discussions.

    • Manage ongoing executive communications opportunities, including media briefings, speaking engagements, and customer and partner activities.

    • Develop strategies and own day-to-day execution of public relations in business and technology-focused publications and relevant industry events. Educate business and industry press, analysts, and other influencers about Google Workspace and our approach to serving customers.
