    POSITION SUMMARY

    This role will manage and execute internal and external communications and local community engagement activities for select manufacturing locations. This work will bridge corporate-level strategic communication priorities with local-level activations to improve Purina's employee experience and enhance our reputation in our factory communities. The new factory communications specialists will serve as the primary points-of-contact for all communications and community engagement opportunities on behalf of the local factory team.

    This position will engage with a variety of groups within the larger Purina organization to strengthen, streamline or optimize earned media and storytelling opportunities as well as community engagement efforts, including: Digital Manufacturing, Employment Branding, Safety & Training, Employee Experience, Talent Acquisition, Government Affairs, Marketing and more.

    Primary Responsibilities Community engagement, employee communications, and external communications.

    • Evaluate and establish partnerships with community organizations to reinforce our commitment to the local markets.

    • Engage with local technical and trade schools to promote Purina as an employer of choice and strengthen participation in Apprenticeship. program offerings

    • Develop and deploy local communications strategy and create written, video and visual content for the factory

    • Help uphold our high employee engagement standards by assisting with deployment of employee value proposition, promoting employee recognition programs, and planning for factory celebrations.

    • Identify, develop, and pitch compelling stories to local news outlets to generate positive news coverage in the community and region.

    • Develop strategy to drive manufacturing thought leadership stories

    • Lead local activations as required.

    Requirements

    • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related area.

    • Experience :

    • 1+ years of work experience in communications, marketing, or other relevant function.

    • Ability to write concise and compelling stories for a variety of audiences.

    • Comfortable serving as company spokesperson for local market news media opportunities.

    The approximate pay range for this position is $57,000 to $83,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
