    Role Overview

    Reporting to the Associate Director for Operations & Quality, the communications specialist is responsible for supporting the strategy, planning, execution and measurement of global internal and executive communication programs across multiple channels. You will work closely with subject matter experts in Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Advanced Manufacturing and Environmental Health & Safety to develop simple, effective and impactful communication materials for business initiatives. Your mission is to equip leaders with messages, presentations, social media content, videos and multi-media campaigns to help engage their teams, and drive and influence an innovative and collaborative culture. In addition, the final candidate in this role will play an important part in the strategy and execution of supplier communications.

    A member of the Central communications team, you will also partner with other business unit and functional communicators to coordinate internal strategies and messages with the overall objectives of Collins Aerospace. And as a creative writer, you will also work closely with the News & Internal Communications team on story generation and enterprise-wide campaigns.

    Job Description

    • Works with senior leaders across Operations & Quality to create timely, relevant and dynamically written communications and presentations

    • Coordinates town hall meetings for leadership, and produces internal videos and audio casts to inform employees about progress toward business strategies and goals

    • Develops messaging and executes innovative communications tactics to drive employee awareness and alignment globally using a variety of communications channels (intranet, email, video, digital signage, on-site)

    • Supports strategy and content review of external supplier messages and notices

    • Tailors messages to a diverse international employee audience, including wired and non-wired employees, to increase awareness of key messages and business initiatives

    • Establishes strong internal partnerships across the business units and functions in support of aligned internal communications

    • Follows established analytics program to effectively measure communication benchmarks and milestones for success

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in journalism, public relations, communications, or similar area of study) and 5 years of relevant experience OR

    • Advanced Degree and 3 years of relevant experience OR

    • In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is Required

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in internal communications; demonstrated track record of success

    • Knowledge of internal communications strategies and channels, including effective use of digital and video communications

    • International business and communications experience

    • Experience with web tools/posting relevant content

    • Experience preparing and presenting materials on behalf of executives

    • Ability to balance multiple projects, prioritize and act with a sense of urgency

    • Critical thinking and an ability to understand complex business issues to distill messaging for diverse audiences

    • Passion for engaging in new and innovative communication channels to drive breakthrough audience experiences

    • Healthy sense of humor, positive outlook and lover of all things team

    • Ability to travel up to 15%

    • Operations, supply chain, manufacturing or technical experience (Preferred)
