  • Communications Specialist (Digital Marketing)

    Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Department of Strategic Marketing is seeking a collaborative, analytical and dynamic digital marketing communications specialist with expertise in:

    • Planning and executing digital marketing campaigns: SEM/SEO, marketing automation, reputation management and review solicitation, local listings management, paid social media and display advertising.

    • Measuring and reporting on the performance of digital marketing campaigns.

    • Experience with cross-channel campaigns, including marketing automation, is a plus.

    This person will lead inbound marketing and digital/paid social media strategies in collaboration with others; and manage day-to-day digital marketing execution, directly and with outside agency/vendor support. The right candidate will have proven success in customer acquisition and lead generation campaigns. The position works closely with web, social media, insights & analytics, content, UX and market development colleagues to optimize multi-channel communications efforts.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and execute digital and inbound marketing campaigns: SEM/SEO, marketing automation, reputation management and review solicitation, local listings management, paid social media and display advertising. This may include development of relevant landing pages.

    • Work with team members to measure and report performance of digital marketing campaigns and assess against goals.

    • Collaborate with and oversee work of outside agency partners.

    • Identify trends and insights, and subsequently optimize spend and performance.

    • Collaborate with team members to create landing pages, maintain marketing automation workflows and optimize performance.

    • Evaluate emerging technologies, provide input and make recommendations about adoption.

    • Provide functional expertise, best practices and recommendations about execution of digital campaigns.

    • Ensure appropriate planning and resources are in place to accomplish goals.

    • Consult with internal departments about best practices in digital marketing, particularly paid social media, SEM and local listings.

    • Participate in a rotation of team members to monitor and manage in-bound messaging on social media channels, including some evening and weekend coverage.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field

    • At least 2 years of related professional experience

    • Proven and demonstrable working experience in digital marketing, including Google Ad and paid social media campaigns; healthcare experience preferred

    • Ability to work in cross-functional teams

    • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

    • Proficiency with (and proven ability to quickly learn) a range of digital marketing tools and technologies, e.g.,:

    • Call-tracking and dynamic phone numbers

    • UTM tracking

    • Website, SEM/keyword tools: Google Analytics, Moz, SEM Rush, SpyFu, etc.

    • SEO data aggregation and reputation management tools (e.g., Yext, Binary Fountain)

    • Marketing automation, particularly Marketo

    • Social media listening tools (Sprinklr)

    • Current with trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
