    SALARY: $120,700 - $134,900


    The Media Category Director is part of the North American regional procurement team based in St Louis, MO.

    The Media Director is a leadership position within the Procurement organization reporting to the Senior Director Commercial Procurement. The qualified candidate will have extensive experience working with media agencies, media suppliers, major sports media sponsorships and have a thorough understanding of offline and digital media in the US and Canada markets. The Media Category Director will have primary responsibility for all the procurement needs of the ABI Media groups based in our Commercial offices in New York, NY and in our Labatt offices in Toronto, ON. This role will be responsible for sourcing, strategy, analytics, innovation, negotiations, return on investment, and implementation support for key media projects. Success in this position requires a high-energy, self-motivated, and agile leader able to influence, build relationships with key collaborators to become a trusted advisor, experienced with best-in-class supply chain technologies, have deep expertise in sourcing/contracting standard methodologies, possess strong communications skills and have deep domain expertise in Marketing.


    • Manage the ABI Procurement contractual and day-to-day relationship with our defined Media Agencies and partners, in close collaboration with the ABI Marketing teams in New York and Toronto.

    • Responsible for managing all Media spend across multiple Anheuser-Busch & Labatt brands. This spend is highly complex in nature and requires close collaboration with key stakeholders across multiple functions within the business to execute.

    • Primary responsibility for the analytics, tracking and monitoring of our media planning, execution, and results on an ongoing basis across all our Media Types and Media Providers.

    • Measure efficiencies/effectiveness of all new/established Media investment strategies with innovative ROI models, value tracking and KPI management

    • Define and oversee Media Agency Fee & Bonus allocations within remuneration models for Agencies

    • Develop, set, and track annual savings targets and cost management initiatives in partnership with Media Agencies and internal stakeholders. Responsible for the negotiation, implementation and ongoing management of the Media Auditor(s) for US and Canada to ensure validity and results of Media delivered.

    • Define, negotiate, and develop strategic sourcing solutions for our Programmatic Media buying group that meet business requirements and enhance profitability by controlling/reducing costs, improving payment terms, and optimizing efficiencies.

    • Define, negotiate, and develop strategic sourcing solutions for our social media and digital requirements that meet business requirements and enhance profitability by controlling/reducing costs, improving cash flow, and optimizing efficiencies.

    • Coordinate category sourcing initiatives across internal stakeholder group, back-office operations, senior management, legal, global procurement office, and others.

    • Manage and develop supplier relationships to ensure reduced risk of services as well as driving future business process efficiencies and savings.

    • Translate long term strategies into value added agreements with Media Agencies- e.g. Media ROI and Media Agency incentive compensation models

    • This role will be expected to have a regular presence in New York and Toronto offices.


    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications or equivalent; Master's Degree preferred

    • 5+ Years or more of relevant professional experience

    • Strong analytical and Project Management skills

    • Strong record in sourcing, contracting, benchmarking and negotiations

    • Sourcing knowledge and understanding of sourcing processes across different categories

    • Basic knowledge of finance, accounting, and legal requirements as it relates to commercial agreements

    • Communicating effectively by conveying information and ideas in a clear, meaningful, and timely manner

    • Ability to establish and develop collaborative working relationships across functions and geographies

    • Ability to influence, build trust, gain consensus, and drive progress


    • Experience in working for or with creative agencies or media agencies

    • Hands-on procurement / category management experience

    • Data mining and data preparation experience

    • Experience in FMCG/CPG industry

    • Experience and understanding of sourcing and analytics tools such as Ariba, SAP MM/SRM, advanced MS Excel, MS Access, Database tools (SQL etc.)

    • Experience in being part of or managing global or geographically dispersed teams

    • Experienced in working within ANA committees and using trade group materials

    • Knowledge of agency audit process, practices, and how to implement go forward takeaways

    • Highly developed agency specific RFP and commercial language expertise
