  • We are looking to recruit for an Editor In Chief to join us here at Elsevier who will be responsible for developing and launching an online-only gold open access specialty journal for The Lancet. The Editor must be a subject expert who can shape the journal into a forum for publishing the most relevant and practice-changing research in this multidisciplinary field. The Editor will also manage the day-to-day editorial handling of papers and peer-review and drive the editorial strategy of The Lancet Healthy Longevity.This is a Full-Time position and the successful candidate will be based in our offices at London Wall.

    • Collaboration with other divisions or departments within RELX as appropriate to launch and develop The Lancet Healthy Longevity.

    • Budgeting and monitoring expenditure and income for the journal; liaising with the finance departments in the UK, USA, and other regional offices to ensure timely payment of invoices.

    • Overall responsibility for the editorial strategy and launch of The Lancet Healthy Longevity, a new online only gold open access journal within the portfolio of Lancet journals.

    • Overall responsibility for the content and timely production of 96 online-only articles a year, linked Comments and Correspondence, and Editorial of The Lancet Healthy Longevity. Commission Comment content as necessary.

    • Develop and maintain links with the general medicine, oncology, diabetes, neurology, rheumatology, general practice, bone health, geriatrics, and infection communites amongst other to solicit high-quality research for the journal.Commission Comment content as necessary.

    • Appoint and liaise with an International Advisory Board for The Lancet Healthy Longevity

    PhD or MD in a directly relevant discipline.

    Substantial post-doc research experience or clinical experience in a relevant field.Substantial editorial experience, at Editor or other senior level, with a good understanding of all aspects of the editorial process, journal production, and of running an editorial team.
