JTDI Technical Writer (Remote)
KBR is currently seeking an experienced Journeyman Technical Writer (JTW) for the Joint Technical Integration (JTDI) Program to provide technical documentation and technical writing support for the J JTDI program. Analyzes requirements, develops source material, consults sustainment, in-service engineering, and integration technical staff, and works with team lead to prepare document draft and final for contract delivery. Writes technical documents such as procedure manuals, service manuals, and related technical publications concerned with installation, operation, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) supported systems and equipment. Includes operational specifications, bulletins, articles, reference manuals, and customer onboarding publications. Acquires or verifies knowledge of subject by interviewing workers engaged in developing new products and services or in making improvements, observing performance of experiments and methods of production, referring to dataflows, sketches, engineering drawings and notes, analysis of alternatives, rewrites of articles, bulletins, guides, or similar publications. Contributes to development of organizational goals and procedures. Plans and prepares the technical data for publication projects.
Leads/champions multi-disciplined or cross-functional teams; serves as subject matter expert.
Supports technical documentation compiling, writing/editing and/or coordinating.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Candidate must be meticulous, organized, and self-driven.
Must have background in information technology field or be familiar with general IT practices.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project).
Must have experience in capturing/writing meeting minutes, standard operating procedures, data flow diagrams, project schedules, and quick reference guides
Will be required to administer and/or develop a document management system.
Must be able to provide document activities such as authoring, archiving, compiling, reviewing, and auditing.
Will be expected to leverage program operations website to store, retrieve, and manage documentation and information.
Must be able to independently manage schedule and interface with government customer when necessary.
Will be required to provide input for continuous process improvement
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Technology or related field, with at least 4 years of related experience. In lieu of formal education, 12 years of progressive related experience. Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
