    HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER'S INTERPRETER SERVICES Department has an outstanding opportunity for a MEDICAL INTERPRETER, SPANISH. WORK SCHEDULE

    • Full-time, 40 hours per week

    • Day shift PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide interpretation for target language(s)

    • Transmit information accurately between patient and provider or staff;

    • Encourage direct communication between patient and provider or staff;

    • Manage complexity of cross-cultural encounter; and

    • Provide sight translation in the presence of a provider and/or other medical staff.

    • Provide video remote and telephonic interpretation (in four-hour shifts):

    • VMI Equipment Operator; and access Database Data Entry.

    • Assist patients to complete medical, financial, or other forms. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High school graduation or equivalent AND two years interpretation experience in a clinic or hospital setting. AND medical interpreter certification or qualification either from Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters, or the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters.
