    Siena College is accepting applications for the part-time position of Men's Club Rugby Assistant Backs Attack Coach. Appointment Dates: September - May.

    A Siena College Club Rugby Assistant Coach should understand and exemplify Siena College's mission statement and the Student Life values of Diversity, Optimism, Respect and Service (DORS values). The responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in the promotion of a competitive and participatory club level men's rugby program while ensuring a safe and quality program; assist with the fitness, selection and retention of players. The assistant coach will coordinate with the head coach to implement individual and team-based coaching strategies that focus on developing specific skills through both training and competition

    The assistant coach must have extensive experience coaching backs and attack. They will develop well-structured training sessions that provide team progressions in the areas of set pieces (back line attack, kicking) and open play (back/attack focused) as well as defense and be present at all student practices and competitions.

    Hours: September through May, Part time position, maximum of 29 hours per week

    Practices Mon-Fri, 2 hours each day = 10 hours per week

    Weekend hours for games and competition

    Annual Salary: $ 6,000.00 - September to May

    Job Requirements:

    • A Bachelor's degree required

    • Minimum 4 years of playing and 4 years of coaching with 1 year coaching at the collegiate or equivalent level

    • USA Rugby Level 200

    • USA Rugby NFHS Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors

    • USA Rugby NFHS Concussion in sports

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Demonstrated experience working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds

    • Knowledge of and commitment to College, USAR and NYSRC rules

    • Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and insurability at the time of appointment and must maintain such license and insurability throughout the tenure of employment.

    • A background screening will be required.

    • Preferred qualifications:

    • USA Rugby Level 300

    • Progressively responsible experience in practice and game-day coaching
