    The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND .

    Your Responsibilities

    As a Part-Time Student-Visual Communications for John Deere Financial located in Johnston, IA you will:

    • Support internal employee communications.

    • Participate in and help plan various employee events and meetings.

    • Develop and distribute employee engagement communications and tactics.

    • Coordinate and integrate various communication media to share business-related information with unit employees to ensure understanding of business goals and objectives. Additionally, distributes tickets of local events to employees as an engagement and recognition tool.

    • Develop, coordinate, and integrate communications; including but not limited to articles for the newsletter, digital signage, and other communication media.

    • Provide video design and/or graphic design development and support; works with communications team on graphics and/or video editing to help employees understand our strategic and tactical initiatives and employee events.

    • Prepare unit communications; develop content with guidance from communications team.

    • Monitor and updates digital signage; design of new slides and working with various departments to update regular features, such as the employee milestones, training classes being offered, and employee events.

    This position is not available to students on immigration visas.

    What Skills You Need

    • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in a communications, public relations, journalism/ mass communication, graphic design or marketing discipline; others may apply.

    • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited college/university.

    • Graduation date of May 2025 or later.

    • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above.

    • Available to work during the academic year 16-20 hours/weekly.

    • Available to work during the summer semester 35-40 hours/weekly.

    • Must be able to commute to the work location in Johnston, Iowa on a daily basis year-round.

    • Work with multiple media such as a video, design (print and digital).

    • Beginner to intermediate understanding of Adobe products such as illustrator, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Rush, and After Effects.

    • Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office/Microsoft Suite .

    • Video filming and editing experience.

    • Web design experience.

    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Strong organizational skills.

    • Good interpersonal and team communication skills.

    NOTE: For Iowa State University Engineering students, this assignment will qualify for an ISU co-op position working 20 hours per week.
