As an NBC 10 | Telemundo 62 employee, you will have the opportunity to join a fast-paced production / operation team that delivers news programming across multiple platforms. You will be supporting our 24/7 broadcast news group and our Engineering and Operations department.
Operate camera, sound, lighting and editing equipment to cover live and taped events
Respond quickly to breaking news while taking direction and interacting with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room, and appropriate NBC personnel
Gather compelling video, natural sound, and work with others to make sure it meets deadlines
At direction of the assignment desk, respond to breaking news obeying all traffic laws
Be competitive and measured to make sure NBC10/T62 is accurate and first
Interact with the assignment desk, reporters/anchors, production, control room and acquisition personnel
Proficient in lighting, videography, non-linear editing with Adobe Suite, microwave truck operations, Live U and Dejero operation
Maintain equipment and vehicles by doing preventive maintenance and inspections
Attend editorial meetings to gain better understanding of overall process and contribute ideas
Operate with professionalism and respect and take extra caution when in the public's eye
Minimum 5 years as a video journalist / editor in a fast-paced news environment
Must have a valid driver's license as well as a clean driving record
Must adhere Environmental Health & Safety standards and regulations
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds of equipment at a given time
Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours at a time (in breaking news situations, may need to stand for longer periods of time - up to 8 hours)
Must be able to operate live transmission equipment including microwave trucks and bonded cellular devices like Live U / Dejero
Must be able to maneuver small spaces (in/out of vehicles and to be able to take camera shots in tight spaces)
Must be able to sit for up to 2 hours at a time (i.e. for editing purposes)
Must be willing to work all days/shifts
Compelling storyteller with a knowledge and command of various camera types
Ability to work creatively both independently and as a member of a team
Proficient video editing skills under tight deadlines
Proficiency with multiple camera types including but not limited to: Shoulder mount ENG, Handheld Camcorders, DSLR/Mirrorless, Go Pro Style Action Cam, Drone
Strong editorial, interpersonal and organizational skills
Willingness to learn new technologies and tools
Knowledge and ability to operate communication tools and stay connected with the assignment constituencies (i.e. use of email software, cell phone, messaging tools, etc)
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
