Primary Function

Responsible for precise timing of live and pre-recorded studio and outside broadcast programs and operation of video playout system.

Must speak and read Arabic fluently.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate video playout system under the instruction of the director during production.

• Manage video playout system to ensure it is ready for specific shows and optimum settings are adopted for most efficient operation.

• Oversee all timed elements of live and pre-recorded systems.

• Ensure programs fit in timed slots as per master schedule.

• Check and manage times of all program elements, packages, lives, studio interviews, etc. To ensure overall show timing is as agreed.

• Track timing of specific graphics, straps, presenter names and inform graphics operator when they are to be taken to air.

• Liaise closely with editorial staff in news to help ensure technical accuracy of script details.

• Liaise closely with transmission controllers to confirm or agree on show on and off airtimes.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

• Must have an understanding of news and current affairs and an eye for detail.

• Ability to think logically and progressively.

• Can recognize and meet strict deadlines.

• Quick to react to situations or respond to questions/commands.

• Fluent English speaker and able to communicate effectively both verbally and written.

• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

• Able to work in a stressful and fast-paced News environment.

• Able to work in a multi-cultural and 24/7 shift base environment.

• Must be organized and punctual.

• Knowledge and experience of Avid Command playout system is advantageous

• Knowledge and experience of iNews is advantageous

Education & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in TV, Media, communications, or related fields.
