Job Description
As a public engagement senior coordinator, you will be responsible for engaging with community stakeholders including state and local government officials, clients, and the public, to convey the merits of specific projects. You will develop strategic public engagement plans and carry out public engagement activities including stakeholder interviews, open houses, presentations, and individual or group meetings.
Build and maintain relationships with diverse community members and key stakeholders
Represent the project at various types of outreach events to build a coalition of support and identify/address potential affected stakeholders' concerns.
Identify, plan and staff engagement activities and events
Develop effective strategies for public participation in each community, tailored to the specific needs of the community and the project
Collaborate with cross-functional teams providing technical assistance including project managers, scientists, and engineers
Compile communication engagement summary reports
Identify opportunities to offer additional services with existing clients
Assist with new project pursuits and proposals
Qualifications

You bring to the team:
Bachelor's degree in public relations, public administration, communication, education, business, or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years' experience in projects involving public or community engagement
Strong communication skills
Proven ability to build trust, and encourage community residents to participate in change-making activities in their community
Knowledge of current communication and outreach tools, strategies, and best practices
Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
Willing and able to travel as needed.
