  • Position Overview

    The Senior Motion Designer will collaborate with Encore's Creative Teams and internal partners to deliver best-in-class Motion Graphics for a broad range of Creative content projects. This position will work alongside the Creative Team in developing and implementing visual identities and animated storytelling for Encore's client's In-Person and Virtual events. The Senior Motion Designer will provide art direction, hands-on design, and animation for video projects, maintaining a high standard for creativity and quality. This position will oversee complex animation projects, bringing new innovative ideas. The Sr Motion Designer reports to the Associate Creative Director, Editorial and Motion graphics, or higher.

    Key Job Responsibilities

    Content Creation

    • Independently create engaging animation and motion graphics for high-complexity projects, always striving to ensure the highest quality.

    • Ability to individually or with a team concept and produce high-quality high-complexity animation and motion graphics pieces.

    • Provide an expert artistic POV for complex media deliverables and message delivery.

    • Demonstrate the ability to problem-solve seamlessly through motion design when the provided assets are not optimal.

    • Demonstrate effective visual storytelling skills through multiple styles of animation including but not limited to: 2D motion graphics, character animation, 3D animation, etc.

    • Partner with creative teams from the concept stage through execution.

    Information Management

    • Regularly communicate with Creative Producers on the status of all events.

    • Work closely with the Art director and the creative team to strategically choose or develop visual style and tone, thinking about each project holistically.

    • Manage timelines for high-volume, high-complexity, overlapping, fast-turnaround projects, and prioritize requests to hit critical deadlines.

    • Organize and manage shared media assets, ensuring integrity and accessibility for the rest of the video team.

    • Demonstrate proficiency in technical knowledge of creative software, with the ability to troubleshoot independently.

    • Organize and maintain workstation to ensure efficient operation; organize and back up files as appropriate.

    • Demonstrate integrity and navigate through creative challenges with insight and patience.

    • Actively participate in creative presentations to internal and external stakeholders, effectively presenting concepts and solutions to influence sell-through to clients.

    • Responsible for adhering to established project schedule and deadlines providing deliverables in a timely and accurate fashion.

    • Produce high-quality work that meets the standards expected by internal teammates and external clients.

    • Demonstrate the ability to effectively and accurately translate any and all Creative Direction provided into assigned projects and deliverables.

    • Demonstrate proactive communication skills with the ACD, Producer, and team members; project concerns or red flags should be raised immediately so issues can be addressed in a timely manner.

    • Maintain timely communications via email, teams chat, or phone when working at the office, and especially when working remotely.

    • Ability to work on multiple deliverables and projects at the same time without sacrificing quality.

    • Keep all project data and timesheet information up to date in the Project Management software.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

    • 5+ years of experience in animation/post-production.

    • A highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and creative approach

    • Advanced working knowledge of multiple motion graphics and animation platforms.

    • 3D experience is a plus

    • Strong written and oral communication skills

    • Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels of both internal and client organizations

    • A positive approach to teamwork and problem solving

    • Strong client relationship skills

    • Works well under pressure

    • MS Office experience required

    • Adept working in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro and knowledge in Illustrator and Photoshop.

    • A reel and creative portfolio of relevant work that demonstrates the range, experience, and flexibility

    • Manage all projects in the current PM software, making sure it is always up-to-date and correct

    Work Environment

    Hotel

    Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area.

    Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
