Bloomberg is expanding its audio offerings and looking for an experienced podcast senior producer to work on an ambitious daily podcast focused on the economy, the world, and enterprise business news. The producer will work on this show in collaboration with a larger audio team and alongside reporters and editors in Bloomberg's wider newsroom. They will work under the guidance of an Executive producer. This role will be project based. This opening is for a senior producer candidate with at least 7 years of experience in reported, narrative audio pieces or podcasts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• With the Executive producer, conceive, focus and generate daily story ideas as well as solicit and shape pitches from producers and broader newsroom

• With Executive Producer, concurrently lead production on multiple episodes for the daily show, managing logistics, editorial standards and episode quality

• Collaborate on scripting episodes with a producer and story editor, with the ability to weigh in on the story arc, outline, and framing of episodes

• Collaborate with the Executive Producer on managing the long-term editorial calendar as well as day-to-day production tasks

• Lead producing and reporting on select episodes, both in the field and in the studio

• Ability and willingness to represent the daily podcast in an efficient and high energy newsroom

• Ability and willingness to edit for sensitivity and quality

• Excellent news judgment required, with a pulse on the biggest stories in business and markets on a daily basis

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Experience reporting, editor or producing in a newsroom or on projects with rigorous journalistic ethics

• Experience with field, remote and in-studio production

• Reporting experience in any field preferred

• Demonstrated interest in covering business news

• The daily show is produced using Descript, Audition and Google Docs. Proficiency in editing software (Audition) is required (Pro Tools is a plus)

Salary Range: 60 - 70 USD Hourly

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
