    The Senior Product Designer position will report to the Lead Product Designer.

    As Senior Product Designer, you will have significant ownership of design objectives and strategy. This role will be responsible for discovering opportunities for product excellence and differentiation on our products. Combining an understanding of business opportunities with a deep empathy for the user, you'll work on creating experiences that help students get loans with terms that work for them. You'll collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to determine strategy, roadmaps, and deliverables while also maintaining a lot of autonomy over your work.

    You will also work on

    Product Strategy

    • Collaborate on initiatives for web and native mobile, strategize design vision and goals, with key stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering, and Research to define product solutions.

    • Focus on user-centric design solutions, leveraging research and data to meet user and business needs, prioritize design resources, and ideate new product features in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

    UX Design

    • Formulate strategic insights and strategies for UX development, design high-level user flows for complex products, and create versatile design processes, features, and components.

    • Understand and integrate business and technical requirements, working cross-functionally within and outside the product team to develop innovative features.

    UI Design

    • Design versatile processes, features, and components for cross-product use, create UI components for product flows, and contribute to the Earnest design system, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications.

    • Contribute back to our internal Design System, maintaining a scalable approach to UI design through high-fidelity components.

    Leadership

    • Effectively communicate design strategy across the company and present ideas and work to teams while mentoring junior design team members and leading workshops and brainstorming sessions.

    About You:

    • 5+ years of designing web-based products, with experience with UX and UI

    • High proficiency in Figma

    • Familiarity with other UX/UI software for creating flows, prototypes

    • Ability to analyze and use data and research to inform decisions

    • Utilize understanding and analysis of quantitative data, qualitative user understanding, and knowledge of business capabilities to develop features and product experiments

    • Experience leading and launching end-to-end product / product features

    • Attention to detail

    • Excellent verbal and communication skills

    • Excellent analytical skills to break down and solve complex problems

    • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally

    • Design discovery (user research, competitive research)

    • Deep user empathy around complex/emotional categories.

    Even Better:

    • Complex prototyping, used to run more in depth usability studies

    • Motion Design

    • Experience in FinTech

    A little about our pay philosophy: We take pride in compensating our employees fairly and equitably. We are showcasing a range of your potential base salary, determined primarily based on a candidate's location. Earnest takes a market-based approach, categorizing U.S. locations into one of five zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. The successful candidate's starting pay will also be determined based on job-related qualifications, internal compensation, and budget. This range may be modified in the future.

    $127,100-$158,875 USD
