    Availability Technical Writer - Job Description

    We're looking for an experienced writer to develop technical content for internal Salesforce audiences. You'll help make sure engineers have the information they need to design, monitor, and maintain a reliable service. Using a spectrum of your content skills, you'll focus efforts writing technical documentation for a developer audience and creating resulting content experiences that address your customers' key jobs to be done. Additionally, you might work on monthly updates, release notes, root cause analysis documents, blogs, newsletters, and presentations that help increase adoption and transparency of the variety of technical programs.

    Work involves collaborating with engineering and product leaders, scrum teams, learning teams, and the content experience team. You'll join the content team's documentation intake and tracking process to maintain a backlog of content deliverables, keep user stories up-to-date, and manage stakeholder expectations. You also have the opportunity to drive and influence content strategy at Salesforce.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or an English degree and/or equivalent experience

    • 3+ years of experience with technical writing and editing developer-focused process documentation

    • Strong collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with engineering and product stakeholders

    • Superb English writing and editing skills

    • Ability to work on multiple projects at once

    • Ability to learn new technologies quickly

    • Great people and communication skills

    • Strong team player

    Desired Experience/Skills

    • Project management skills or experience

    • Experience writing technical root cause analysis or incident response documents

    • Experience with authoring tools such as Confluence, content management systems, review and feedback tools like gDocs or Quip, diagraming tools, screen capturing tools, video tools
