    Position Description:

    As a Senior Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating technical documents and manuals, explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner, and working with developers and data scientists to ensure accuracy of document content. This intermediate level position is a great way to support a vital Federal mission and join CGI, a premier systems integrator and application development firm.

    Your future duties and responsibilities:

    With guidance from the Project Manager and in collaboration with team members, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Developing outlines and drafts for review and approval by technical specialists and project management

    • Ensuring that final documents meet applicable contract requirements and regulations

    • Researching and gathering technical and background information for inclusion in project documentation and deliverables

    • Consulting relevant information sources, including library resources, technical and financial documents, and client and project personnel, to obtain background information, and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing project deliverables

    • Maintaining a comprehensive list of acronyms to be used in documentation, analyzing documents to maintain continuity of style and content and ensure contractual compliance

    • Providing specialized expertise in the design and layout of graphical user interfaces, particularly, screen layouts and functionality for client-server applications (e.g. Microsoft Windows presentation screens)

    • Conducting studies, testing and evaluation of screen prototypes for functionality, ease of use, efficiency, and accuracy. Generates, manipulates, and integrates graphic images, animations, sound, text and video generated with automated tools into consolidated and seamless multimedia programs

    Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

    This is an intermediate level position with 3 years of relevant technical experience required. Successful candidates will possess:

    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

    • Superior writing skills and grammar expertise

    • Ability to write in a variety of styles and convey technical and business content to technical and non-technical audiences

    • Familiarity with the mortgage-backed securitization industry and terminology

    • Time management and organizational skills

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Ability to tackle challenging work independently or in a team environment

    • Ability to learn and adapt quickly
