    The Show Director is responsible for directing live news, talk shows, sports, entertainment, special events and automated shows. The Show Director will collaborate with both the editorial and technical teams to conceptualize a vision and execute a comprehensive show rundown, as well as plan and direct the video and audio aspects of television programs based on the specifications and knowledge of television production techniques.

    Job Duties

    • Responsible for interpreting scripts, working with key on air talent, crew, and producers to establish the pace of the program and stay within the time requirement.

    • Provides instructions to the technical production crew before and during live or recorded programs and keeps them informed of the show's rundown, camera shots, effects, graphics, playback order and other specific information.

    • Collaborates closely with the technical and production teams and makes decisions quickly, communicates clearly, and pivots quickly when needed.

    • Responsible for ensuring high quality standards, troubleshooting issues, and adapting quickly to change.

    • Partners closely with production and editorial teams to plan and execute successful broadcasts.

    • Provides End of Show reports and highlights any on/off air discrepancies to help minimize errors.

    • Works under the direct supervision of Director, Control Room Operations and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager or Supervisor as needed.

    Basic Requirements

    • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Show Director in a live/recorded television production environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Prior experience planning and executing shows both in studio and in remote locations

    • Proven experience and proficiency working with Newsroom Control Systems (i.e Avid iNews).

    • Proven experience and knowledge of broadcast and production technology, especially Automated Production Systems (i.e. Sony ELC, Ross Overdrive, GV Ignite, Viz Mozart, etc.)

    • Must be fully fluent in English & Spanish (both written & oral)

    • Possess moderate computer skills and familiarity with Windows operating systems
