Role Value Proposition:
Oversees high-profile internal communications initiatives for Group Benefits, specifically those focused on driving employee engagement, change agility, and business plan activation at all levels of the organization. Acts as a dedicated communications resource for assigned Group Benefits leaders and their respective teams, including Product & Pricing, Distribution Development & Benefits Delivery, and Planning & Governance.
Closely coordinates with the market segment leads in order to maintain consistent, complementary messaging in support of broader organizational imperatives.
Ensures all communications activities are aligned with those of global internal communications, external communications, marketing, and HR/training/development.
Flexes to the needs of the business, providing comprehensive support in areas such as email development and distribution, presentation development, key messages, scripting, multimedia creation, and town hall content/logistics.
Accountable for setting, measuring, and achieving performance metrics, using optimal channel mix/utilization in order maximize audience engagement.
Must be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced matrixed environment, as well as providing direct support to senior leadership.
Maintain and/or evolve senior leadership communications platforms, including email and video messages, feature articles, blogs, and town halls.
Provide day-to-day communications support to business areas, including content developed for Group Benefitsâ€™ real-time internal news site.
Provide comprehensive communications planning and consultation on key initiatives and events, building well-timed, high-impact communication activities into business-led project plans.
Lead communicator for internal influencer groups as needed (e.g., Organizational Health Action Team, Sales Advisory Council, and the Learning Council).
Performs other related duties as assigned or required
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
7-10+ years of related business experience
High proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, primarily Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
Superior cross-functional project management skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex information internally and externally
Self-starter with an ability to handle a variety of responsibilities by taking initiative
Proven relationship management skills
Proven blended PR and social media skills
Must have the ability to understand cultural nuances
Must be a reliable and flexible team player with a friendly and professional attitude
Track record of creative ideation
Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related discipline.
Experience in creative-related industries, experience producing content for a variety of emerging digital platforms, HR communications and employee engagement fundamentals.
Insurance/benefits industry exposure is a plus
