    KBR is seeking an experienced Sr Specialist, Publications to edit and proofread our technical and management proposal content for grammar, punctuation, style, clarity, and factual correctness ensuring content distills complex technical terms into easy-to-understand proposal content and marketing materials.

    Besides editing and proofreading, the Sr Specialist, Publications tasks also include creating briefs, white papers, plans, manuals, and presentations. Experience in conceptualizing graphics to best convey proposal/document messages and solutions is required. The Sr Specialist Publications contributes to the layout of the content consistent with request for information and request for proposal requirements to best convey response content. The successful candidate will collaborate with management and technical experts to ensure clarity of content and refine content for final production and delivery of documents.

    This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Proposal Operations.

    The successful candidate must demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback to our technical writers to help them improve the quality of their writing and possess the ability to provide support within tight turnaround timelines. The Sr Specialist, Publications must also have the ability to work collaboratively with a variety of diverse teams assembled based on expert needs.

    Additional Responsibilities Include:

    • Edits technical content for accuracy, clarity, grammar, and style

    • Ensures all content is easy to understand and adheres to KBR and client style guidelines, incorporates approved KBR capture solutions, is compelling, and fully compliant with customer solicitation requirements

    • Understands complex instructions while editing with extreme attention to detail

    • Possesses strong collaboration and organizational skills

    • Independently researches and identifies existing proposal content for applicable relevance to requirements, and interviews subject matter experts to compile compelling proposal content

    • Provides feedback and suggestions for improvement to technical writers

    • Creates templates and proposal global consistency/wall of truth documents for writing teams when necessary

    • Writes or edits content within schedule deadlines

    • Recommends and participates in the development of meaningful graphics to most effectively convey solutions and messages

    • Works all documents using the company provided content database (SharePoint)

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Education: Must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Journalism, Engineering, Applied Science, or similar fields

    • At least 6 years of proven work experience in a similar role

    • Strong computer skills and experience working with SharePoint and using Microsoft 365 products

    • Excellent communication skills

    PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

    • Prior experience working with technical experts to collect and document proposal content.
