The Structural Designer develops innovative, cost effective, visually appealing, and structurally sound point of point of purchase displays and merchandising solutions utilizing the dual skill set of both structural and graphic design. The Structural Designer is a design professional with 3-5 years of relevant industry experience. She/he applies expertise and experience to independently solving complex design challenges, demonstrating ownership and accountability for customer and project deliverables. She/he often provides advice, supporting and coaching peers and colleagues on complex design-related challenges. She/he has strong business acumen and self-awareness and a robust design skillset. She/he communicates well, demonstrates excellent organization and time management, and delivers consistently high-quality output.

Contribute to concept development for customer projects, proactively identifying what is needed and driving a successful outcome.
Consistently contributes to the body of creative and high-quality design comprising the innovation platform projects, producing compelling presentation collateral and imagery to effectively communicate the design intent and value proposition.
Interact with Account Executives, Senior Designers, and customers to ascertain design needs and objectives
Ideation/concept development for existing and new clients; prototype development
Work collaboratively with Senior Designers, Design Manager, and Sales to develop customer programs
Convey concepts with quick sketches (fast and fluid), and CAD (Artios) visualization
Participate during project creation and implementation
Participate in discussions and decisions on project timelines, deliverable dates, and prioritization
Produce samples and mockups using various techniques and skills such as Drafting (2D/3D), various knife tools and cutting tables (Konsberg/DataTech Tables); create promotional materials
Responsible for project development record keeping, file naming/part numbering, utilizing project management system
Develop Bill of Material (BOM), POG, Specifications, Palletization, Cape, etc.
Use retail environment awareness and knowledge of specifications and guidelines
Communicate development path to Account Executives and customers
Participate in project review meetings with Sales, Project management and other designers
Assist with presentation of abstract ideas, and provide technical support to Sales staff
Perform Technical Illustration tasks as required i.e., Plan-o-grams, Assembly Instructions, Retail Assembly Instructions, Digital Photography, Illustrator and Photoshop work
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Design, Graphic Design or Fine Arts is required Prior point of purchase display experience is required. 3-5 years of previous POP design experience required.
Proficiency of Adobe Suite - Especially Illustrator, Photoshop, and In-design
Proficiency of Microsoft Office products - Especially Power Point, Word, and Excel
Advanced proficiency of Artios CAD
Advanced ability to understand 3D thinking
Proficiency of 3D software
Advanced understanding of all manufacturing processes and limitations (including printing)
Proficient in operation of equipment including CAD Tables & Large format printers
Can effectively execute any project or program initiated by sales or leadership
Mechanical aptitude, the ability to convey concepts with quick sketches and creative 2D/3D problem solving skills.
Good verbal, written and graphics communications skills
Highly developed sense of aesthetics, print production knowledge, an eye to detail as well as engineering ability and an advanced understanding of how things work
Ability to drive projects to completion in a fast paced, deadline driven environment is a requirement. This position will work both independently and as part of a team and requires a helpful and cooperative attitude, and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
