  • Summary:

    A Technical Artist is the key bridge between artists and engineers, and Horizon Worlds is currently looking for a passionate team member to closely work with a multidisciplinary team to build new cutting-edge FX and pipelines with Popcorn ~~~ this role, you will be creating complex and optimized experiences across a variety of Horizon products.

    Required Skills:

    Technical Artist , Horizon Worlds Responsibilities:

    1. Partner closely with the engineering and design teams to develop content across a range of devices.

    2. Implement runtime logic within a complex real-time environment with performance limitations in mind.

    3. Prototype, profile and optimize custom shaders

    4. Develop performant VFX and pipelines with Persistant Studios Popcorn FX

    5. Optimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists and designers on asset creation, modeling and texturing best practices.

    6. Develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical and artistic tasks, including diagnosing and fixing bugs

    7. Quickly solve issues with cross-functional leads.

    8. Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

    9. Design, manage and maintain the pipeline from artists and designers through to deployment.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications

    1. Demonstrated expertise at understanding inner workings of a real-time game engine (Unity, Unreal, etc)

    2. Demonstrated expertise with VFX and Popcorn FX

    3. Experience with game/real-time profiling and optimization techniques.

    4. Experience with real-time scripting.

    5. Experience in shader languages (GLSL, ShaderLab, HLSL).

    6. Experience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints, such as complex mobile or 3D applications or games.

    7. Experience communicating across team members including engineers and artists.

    8. Experience in real-time content authoring (characters/environments/VFX/animation/lighting).

    9. Experience working with version control systems (Git, Perforce, etc.)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    1. Deep knowledge of low level real-time graphics pipeline concepts.

    2. Being interested in and informed about emerging technologies.

    3. Self-motivated, product thinking mindset

    Public Compensation:

    $95,000/year to $152,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
