As an integral member of the proposal process, this individual works closely with the proposal team, business development, finance, contracts, legal, subject matter experts to create winning, high quality, compliant, and compelling proposals. The Editor/Writer will review, edit and refine written material from various authors into a single cohesive document, and ensure that the final written response effectively communicates our intended messages. This position requires an acute understanding of the customer's needs, our capability and service offerings, as well as effective relationship management with stakeholders to fully understand and articulate the proposed solution.Essential Functions:Provide editing and writing support to the Proposal Team throughout the proposal development cycle to include all proposal documents and executive summary materials.Provide integrative editing and writing support to the Business Development Team throughout the capture process to include white papers, RFIs and Trade Studies.Interact with and maintain effective working relationships with members of the Proposal Development Center team, as well as engineering, business development, finance, contracts, legal and subject matter experts.Adhere to established proposal writing processes, defined within the Winning New Business guide, and participate in developing standard baseline bidding materials and databases where appropriate.Evaluate and articulate competitive advantage, differentiators, win strategy, etc. across proposal and marketing materials.Create templates and other materials for potential re-use by other business units, technical and legal writers across the business.Edit the proposal material in a manner that clearly articulates the value proposition, market positioning and overall strategic intent. Ensure proposal text reflects strong industry awareness and highlights the L3Harris differentiators.Support proposal teams by editing the RFP responses and developing executive summaries that demonstrate market position and move the customer to buy.Adhere to quality principles (responsive, accurate, concise, and strategic), style guide, and other criteria for compelling and consistent messaging.Manage multiple projects with a sensitivity to tight deadlines and to working in a collaborative group.Demonstrate expertise in understanding, editing and writing strategically in the aerospace and defense industry, as well as critical thinking and flexibility to step in and analyze opportunities and edit/refine proposals for newly acquired or emerging businesses and marketsRequirements:Bachelor Degree with a minimum of two (2) years of applicable experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered. Degree in Literature, English, Journalism, or Business preferred.+ Business marketing and/or proposal writing experience desired.+ Strongly prefer experience within the Aerospace & Defense market.+ Demonstrated proposal writing experience+ Analytical/critical-thinking skills for understanding complex product offerings, value propositions, and defining them in succinct, persuasive written responses+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and complex environment; proactively seeking guidance on complex tasks, as needed+ Ability to perform effectively under pressure and to practice strong organizational skills when faced with multiple, time-sensitive priorities+ Strong interpersonal, communications, and negotiating skills+ Solid critical thinking, problem resolution, and time management skillsObtain Security Clearance - Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
