    Responsibilities:

    As a Senior Visual Communication Designer in Lilly's Design Labs, you will be expected to work on a wide range of projects for medical devices, combination products and small molecule. Every day will be different, and the scope of work will vary-concepts for clinical trials, to product launch tactics for commercialization and everything in between. You will be responsible for ensuring that your design solutions meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of a project.

    Most importantly, you will be expected to ensure that your work is human-centered, focused on improving user experiences, and possess the ability to balance the needs of business cross-functionally.

    A major part of this role is learning about the people that we serve and their user journeys-

    ensure people are at the center of everything that we do.

    At times, you may be asked to assist and/or lead in managing external design vendors on projects.

    However, the majority of your work will be more hands on; primarily expected to perform as a

    design practitioner.

    In addition to working on wide range of projects for medical devices, you will be tasked to assist

    with design research, prototypes for human factor formatives, brand consultations, presentations, communications, process improvement, design systems, design guidance documents, and many

    other strategic initiatives.

    Not unique to Lilly, but as a Senior Visual Communication Designer in Lilly's Design Labs, you will often be asked to wear many hats and be expected to perform well under pressure. To be successful in this role, you must be passionate, comfortable working through a lot of ambiguity, possess an entrepreneurial

    spirit and be able to deliver high quality solutions on-time.

    To achieve these objectives, you will be expected to demonstrate the following capabilities:

    • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on graphic/visual communication design and provide strategic direction

    • Work independently, leading and influencing projects cross-functionally

    • Anticipate the implications of your decisions and the recommendations of others to ensure everything is aligned and ladders up to broader

    strategic initiatives and the direction of the company?

    • Lead others through ambiguity, promote a culture of accountability, embrace a Team Lilly mindset, and evangelize the value of user-centered

    design as a strategic differentiator throughout the organization

    • Prioritize and possess the situational leadership required to successfully lead multiple projects, stakeholders and timelines

    Influence and inspire the organization to do what is right, not just what is easy through visual, verbal, written communications, and presentations. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization and be able to flex your style based upon the

    audience to maximize impact.

    Basic Qualificiations:

    • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or Visual Communication Design

    • Minimum of 3 years of work experience

    • Demonstrated experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)

    • Portfolio submission demonstrating expertise and design leadership across diverse mediums

    and tactics is required to be considered (pdf or link to site is acceptable)

    Additional Skills/Preferences:

    • Experience in human-centered design in Pharma, Diagnostics or Healthcare in general

    Self-motivated requiring minimal supervision

    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills

    • Strong working knowledge of production and pre-press

    • Experience leading and working with design systems, brand guidelines and integrated marketing/brand campaigns

    Additional Information:

    • Travel up to 25% both US and OUS

    • Location Indianapolis, IN relocation required if not local
